The Honda Civic: Three Stylish Ways to Enjoy Your Daily Driving Needs

Over the course of four decades, the Honda Civic has come to embody a combination of everyday practicality, comfort, and efficiency that make it a great match for many shoppers. Today, this model can be had not just in the style of a sedan, but a two-door coupe, and a hatchback as well. Recently updated with an evocative exterior design and a new family of powerful, fuel-sipping engines, the Civic is a car to check out not just to meet your daily needs, but for a bit of fun, too!

The exterior design of the Civic sedan is athletically presented, with bold creases and a fastback silhouette. LED daytime running lamps give the nose a crisper feel, while the C-shaped LED tail lights are hard to ignore at night. On hatchback models, you'll find a center-line exhaust, and a less dramatic treatment to the roof. But any way you shake it, the Civic is a car that will get you noticed.

From the front seats forward, the cockpit of all three Civic styles are identical, and that's not a bad thing. Class-leading interior volume for passengers and driver alike, a standard 7-inch touch screen, and quality materials on the doors, dash, and seats all bring a premium flavor to the equation. Visibility is excellent, and sedan models come with 15.1 cu-ft of trunk volume. As you might guess, the hatchback gives a bit more at 25.7 cu-ft of maximum volume.

Power in the Civic Comes in a Small Package

Motivation for the Civic comes from one of two engines. Base models of the sedan and coupe get an efficient 2.0-liter inline-four with 158 hp/138 lb-ft of torque that's plenty of fun. But most models get a new 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four with a number of different outputs. The most common version is found in all three, and gets 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, while Sport and Sport Touring hatchbacks can be had with 177 hp or 180 hp, and 167 lb-ft of torque.

The best way to get more out of your Civic is to step up the trim grade, but all models come with the option of the Honda Sensing safety suite, Bluetooth, a rear-view camera, and a USB port with smart phone connectivity. Move up, and features like remote start, a sunroof, heated front and rear seats, and leather upholstery. On sedan and coupe models, the turbocharged engine can be had on EX-T trims and up.
