Predictable, Powerful, and Fun Overall Make the 2017 Honda Civic Si A Great Choice

With all of the flap surrounding the sporty new Civic and the forthcoming 306-horsepower Type R hot hatch, one might think we’d forgotten about the middle child in the lineup. Not so—the 2017 Honda Civic Si sedan and coupe are here, and they’re offering a more performance-geared alternative for those who want more than the mainstream model with an added sense of driving engagement.

By adding a larger turbocharger to the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, the Civic Si gets 205 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Sent to the front wheels by a standard, exclusive six-speed manual, the car benefits from the turbo’s broad torque curve—starting at 2,100 rpm and holding fast up to 5,000, or about 1,500 rpm shy of the 6,000 rpm red line. The rigid chassis makes it fun to toss around, and the suspension makes it a precise performer on curves with minimal body roll. In short, it’s predictable—and quite fun!

If a more potent version of the Civic sedan or coupe is what you’re angling for, the Si offers the right blend of performance and practicality. To learn more, we invite you to contact our Honda dealership in Great Falls, MT and schedule a test drive.
